OHH NOOOOOoooo that’s a lot to deal with! Healing prayers for your parents, and good luck with your basement.
I hope you didn’t lose too much stuff.
Slept terribly last night because my bedroom was too hot and I was being stubborn about not turning on the air conditioner before May 1. But I wimped out when I saw it was 80 in the living room before 10 a.m. this morning and turned on the window unit there. Whole house is better now.
Guess I need to get back on YouTube and order one of those aw-some Tesla devices that generates unlimited electricity from earth’s ground fields.
@haydesigner OTC antihistamine (doxylamine succinate, packaged as a sleep aid) allow me to sleep through the night. But because of concerns about side effects and building up a tolerance, I only use them occasionally (like after a string of bad sleep nights).
After my thing, I typically can only sleep 3-4 hours at night. Last night I actually got almost 5 hours straight. I’ll call that a win Life has been busy so I think my body just needs to rest.
Saw my ortho yesterday and got a steroid injection in my knee. It’s been giving me problems on and off the last couple years so this is about a once every nine month process at this point.
Slept more comfortably than I have in the last couple of weeks. But (even when it’s sore) I generally sleep fine. Just notice it when I wake up to go pee, but soon drift back off. I never have had a problem sleeping …
Not sure if you’ve ever heard of the website Meh.com but they sold some magnesium powder supplements during one of their Meh-rathons. I started using the product, one little scoop in half a glass of unsweetened almond milk about an hour before bed, and I’ve been sleeping like a rock. My only issue is length of my time in bed…I don’t typically go to bed before 11pm & always get up around 5:30am, so I really could work on that aspect…
I use a contour pillow that sits on the top of an extra firm Bamboo pillow!
Both parents are sick, job, basement flooded
@dagirlgenius That’s terrible. But I think you need more than these pillows to sleep restfully.
Positive thoughts and prayers for you and family.
@dagirlgenius Oof, try to get some sleep … eventually.

I slept … horizontally.
I thought I got good sleep but I really zonked out at mid day.
Sleep has been my mortal enemy since… forever.
Finally started trying OTC sleeping pills over a year ago, and now get a semi-decent sleep. Sometimes 🫤

@haydesigner Four trader joes melatonin a night. Had vivid dreams when I first tried them in the 1990s. Don’t know if their placebos now.
Frequent coughing.
None of yo bizness!
I HAVEN’T slept yet! Well, not more than a few 10 minute sessions of nodding off!

Like a baby. Up every couple of hours… Badum Pum!
But I blame the A, B, C’s: Aches, Bladder, and CATS…
Once the little furry ones wake me, I gotta go… (sucks gettin’ old).
@ETFrisco
(sucks gettin’ old) - Doesn’t it though…
And why does it seem to happen overnight?
…
I remember waking up one day and looking in the mirror, my GRANDMOTHER was staring back at me!
C’est la vie…

@chienfou Yay! I do that too. Knock on wood!
I’m 72 years old. In my thirties, my friends called the restroom at Disneyland “the Dianne ride” (weak bladder).
It hasn’t gotten better as I’ve aged.
The last decent night’s sleep I had was after my hip replacement surgery, and I had the good drugs.
I can’t remember when I’d wake up refreshed.
Never had a problem with sleep. Even when in the army artillery, I’d sleep when the big guns were firing.

Ever since we bought a nice firm mattress I sleep better than I have in years
